Empowering Quotes for Women

I was searching on the internet yesterday for some empowering quotes to use within a  presentation that  I had been booked for on the topic of  ‘ How to Empower  Your Staff.  In doing so, I cam across this fabulous page with the best selection of empowering quotes for women I had every seen.

One of my very favourite empowering quotes for women  was:

Remove those ‘I want you to like me’ stickers from your forehead and, instead, place them where they truly will do the most good — on your mirror!” ~Susan Jeffers

This really made me stop and think for a while.  As an award winning  Sydney  Life and Confidence Coach, One of the most common issues I find when working with my fabulous clients is the need to please and moulding our behaviour to make sure that people like us.  It is as if we are looking for that illusive tick of approval from other people in order to feel good about ourselves.

Honestly, I need to share with you what a   restricting habit this can be. It can make you change who you are when you are around people and stop you from being assertive or speaking your truth.  It can also stop you showing your authentic self to the world.

I once attended a conference with Debbie Ford in the US where she stated that 50% of the world will like you and 50% won’t – so which half are you going to spend you time with?

Another issue with always needed to be liked is that we are looking for something outside of ourselves to make us feel good and happy. In actual fact, what we need to do, ( as the quote puts it so well) is to like ourselves!

So today, why not decide to take a step into liking yourself rather than waiting to get the validating from people outside of you? Begin by writing a list of the things YOU like about you and really start to love and cherish who you are.
