Over the past few years,  I have been fascinated by recent and continuing discoveries in neuroscience.  Neuroscience is the study of the brain and nervous system in both in  health and disease.  It is a relatively new field of science, only emerging as a distinct subject in its own right during the 20th century.  The idea that our brains have the ability to change themselves, is not a surprise for me.   I have been using these techniques for 20 years!  However, it is a topic which is now reaching mainstream research, science and media.

Neuroscience and Life Coaching

Having proven scientific research (such as that developed by  neuroscientist Dr Joe Dispenza) now bridges the gap between what was once just labelled just as  positive thinking or spiritual techniques.

MRI’s are now available which actually show how a brain is developed, ( or not developed) as a result of our environment, thoughts and our dominant emotions.  We can now physically see what happen to our brains when we elevate our emotions in alignment with a positive thought, or when we live our lives in a state of stress or survival.   Importantly, this can all be linked to our health and in particular, the function of our immune and nervous systems. The scientific study of the nervous system has also increased significantly during the second half of the twentieth century.  This has allowed  neuroscientists to study the nervous system in all its aspects: how it is structured, how it works, how it develops, how it malfunctions, and how it can be changed.

Linking Neuroscience and Life Coaching is a huge opportunity! How exciting is it to know have scientific  proof that you can really change your life and your health by using elevated positive emotions in conjunction with a firm intention from our thoughts!

This increased knowledge has firmed up my belief that alignment of head, heart and emotion are vital if long lasting positive change is to take place.   Positive thinking alone does not work – or it can take years!   In fact, a positive thought only reaches your brain stem, not your entire body.
