Such a simple question – but such a loaded answer!

In my work as a Life Coach and Confidence Coach, this is a topic I discuss regularly during Life Coaching sessions.

In response, people often nod their heads or reply that  they go to the gym, have an occasional massage or eat good food.  Therefore, they assure me that they do care about how they feel.

However, many people also respond that they simply haven’t got the time to care about how they feel – they are simply too busy. It is not a priority to them.

Self Care is more than a Manicure.

When I talk about caring how you feel,  It isn’t just taking an hour out of your week to grab a massage or have a manicure.  Really caring about how you feel is about taking the time to check in with yourself and choosing only to focus on thoughts that make you feel good.  It is also about aligning with your personal preferences and only  doing things, saying things, thinking things that help you flow downstream, feel good  and improve your overall emotional wellbeing.

What would you do differently if you really cared about how you feel?

Think about it – would you stay in a job that you hate if you really cared how feel? Would you allow people to walk all over you if you cared how you feel?

Would you run around after other people, suppress your feelings or agree to do things you don’t really want to do if you really cared how you feel?

We are more focussed on other peoples feelings than our own.

The truth is, most of us are more focussed on caring how other people feel, than caring about how we feel! We also get carried away doing things we feel we ‘should do‘ rather than things that really make us feel good.

If you want to live a downstream life – you need to care more about how you feel! You need to care sufficiently about your own personal wellbeing to stop doing those things that drain you of your energy and vibration.

Prioritizing Your Own Needs

Choosing a downstream ‘in the flow’ life is all about prioritizing your own wellbeing.  It is about caring about yourself enough  to ensure that your thoughts, feelings and actions are aligned with your own personal emotional wellbeing. A downstream life is really magical and it is where your own personal dreams are manifested and everything you have desired can come flowing to you.

The truth is many of us don’t take care about how we feel enough to focus on following our own stream nor taking the time to find soothing words to give ourselves relief from negative thoughts.   In reality, many of us  continue to do things that don’t feel good, even if our body is screaming out to us to stop old negative patterns of behaviour.
